Airtel NG in her wealth has decided to make data available freely for most of it's users, both new and existing. I started suspecting a change in prices of data plans and this made conclude that all Nigeria ISPs are virtually going to drop the bomb soonest as the competition gets tougher on a daily basis.
Today, I'm going to show you how I got 2GB free data from Airtel. You might think this is a cheat or tweak but I can proudly tell you this is 100% legal as there is no IMEI tweaking attached to it.
How To Get Your Own Free 2GB Data
Getting the data is very easy as I stated earlier because there's no IMEI tweaking attached to it. It's just like a promo only available to those who hear about it.
To get your data now, send 'JOIN' to 141 and you may/may not receive any message in confirmation. But to know if you have been awarded, dial *123*133# and you should be able to tell if you've been given or not.

Note: from the results so far, I can conclude that the data awarded varies from 500MB to 2GB. So if you have a lucky sim like mine, then you shouldn't have to bother about data subscription for now. In case you do not receive any data after sending the message (haven't heard of any case so far), that means you are not eligible so you just can get a new Airtel line, it shouldn't cost you so much.
