Facebook Brings Free Video Calls To Messenger App

Amazing! Isn't It? Facebook is not relenting in making the connection with your friends and loved ones stronger. Few weeks ago, Facebook forced all its users to start making use of the messenger app as you cannot read or send messages directly with the Facebook app. This was very frustrating as it meant more storage and cache to deal with on our devices.

Unknowingly, Facebook has got a little surprise that was gonna excite us and that's the introduction of the voice calling to the messenger app.

According to Facebook on this update:

"You can quickly start a video call from any conversation with just one tap. If you're messaging with someone and realize words just aren't enough, you can simply choose the video icon on the top right corner of the screen and start a video call right from within an existing messenger conversation.
Video calling on Messenger is available for calls made from a mobile phone to another mobile phone, even if one person is on iOS and the other person is on an Android device"

With this update, I think Facebook has brought Messaging up to the standard of the likes of Skype and Viber.

This update may not require you to update your Messenger app depending on the version of Messenger you use. Just look out for the Video icon at the top right corner of the screen to start a Video call. Happy Messaging!
