Twitter to Remove 140 Character Limit on DMs by July

If you have been a regular user of the twitter app for android, you ought to have noticed recent updates on the app which brings new features to its users. Among of which the ability to know how many times your tweet was read was included.

Following the update we have from The Twitter Community page, we can strongly verify our expectation of more characters to express ourselves.

Although, the number of character extensions was not stated but we can keep on watching till when it is officially implemented.

It should be noted that the character extension is limited to direct messages alone, sending tweets still remain at 140 characters as we have it presently.

Following this update, developers are urged to update their apps with the new APIs, Update their GET requests so they will be able to receive the full length of DM text and also adjust their app UI to accommodate longer DM text so that the new feature can work as expected on every platform.
