It's very unfortunate that Windows 8/8.1 OS disabled the Hibernate function in the Power menu. As an avid user of the Windows OS, I loved the Hibernate feature but unfortunately, Windows disabled it. here's what the power menu looks like by default.
On this ride, I'll be showing you how you can easily include the Hibernate feature on you Windows 8/8.1 OS. just follow the simple steps provided below.
How to: Enable Missing Hibernate in Windows 8/8.1 Power Menu
- On your desktop, press WIN + W to bring out the search menu
- Search for 'power' and the Select the second option from your search result i.e Change what the Power Buttons do
- It will bring out your settings for the Power menu in the Control panel.
- on this menu, you will discover that the Hibernate feature is unchecked and you can't include it just yet.
- To include the Hibernate feature, Click on Change settings that are currently available and the Hibernate feature will become available.
- Check the box for the Hibernate function and click Save (see screenshot below)
- The Hibernate feature will now be available in your power menu. See what you power menu looks like at the end.
